I would like some solid opinions on which route to pursue in order to help me adjust my research and budgeting but I wanna lay the groundwork toward my project first for context. Currently, we play games on PlayStation 1 through 3, Dreamcast, GameCube, PC, and Switch. It's becoming too expensive buying a pair of sticks for each platform we play arcade sticks on so we're avoiding buying a Switch compatible pair of sticks and just covering the big expense for future sticks in the long run by taking the DIY approach. Our priority is to have sticks designed for maximum compatibility across current and future platforms including retros; more importantly PlayStation and Dreamcast, or the odd game with additional functionality requiring extra buttons. One of my biggest goals is to source everything we need from one shop if I can help it; for peace of mind more than anything. So far that leads us straight to Jasen's Customs and the Panzer Fight Stick 3i. After reading up on all three options for interfaces, the Pro Cable V2 comes off as the most durable and probably the option I'm gonna go for. On the other hand, the RJ45 cables offer much more potential in terms of consoles I can play with. This is the full stop our current dilemma has us at and need some weighing in.
